08MAY2014 // SKIRTING PT. 3

Top: SUNE / Skort: Rick Owens Lilies SS12 / Cap Toe Flats: ASOS / Sunnies: H&M
For my final bit of this themed 3-part posting, I wanted to do something more fun along the lines of a ‘wild card’. I know I cheated a little bit and wore a skort, but this really is one of my top 5 favourite bottoms ever. To own more beautiful Rick Owens things is definitely a dream I am hoping the universe would conspire to happen for me at some point in my life!
This was a fun little photo session- I’m usually clueless/awkward when it comes to posing and such, so I’m lucky to have Cholo this time to help me out with playing things up. I mean, when he tells you to stand on that pick up, how the hell do you say no?! It would be rude not to.

BARE

I originally wore this outfit for a sunny day, and had Sunnies to match, but I think my lovely photographer Bianca (aka ‘Stick’) and I found ourselves here by perfect timing. The light from our surroundings, the calm of the night, and B’s ultra-artsy perspective made it all come together.

F U N

Please excuse my absence from the blogosphere for the past week, I’ve not been feeling very well and just recently finally started recuperating. Alas, ten rebellious cups of coffee and five days of virus fighting later, I am back with a vengeance– well, an outfit post.
I was looking for a good excuse to wear these pants. The flares are HUGE and I originally styled it with a pleather jacket to square off the look, but I thought the big pants and a heavy jacket looked a bit silly knowing I currently live in a tropical country. So here it is. The mesh jersey is exactly as it says- fun!

I am a fan of these photos by Cholo dela Vega. Loving the effect of the borrowed light from the car behind and the Tron-ish lighting of the background structure. Thank you Cholo for making it all come together.

NIGHT VISION

I’m currently loving two main things about this dress. One being my favourite colour combination as of the past few months: navy and black. The other being the baby doll, drop waist cut of this dress. Though I am not one for ruffles, this dress would be a prime exception. Since the dress is short, I decided that it could be worn as a top too.

Something a little different with photos this time. These awesome photos by Cholo Dela Vega were taken at night (obvs), without a flash or extra lighting, and I absolutely love the turnout. This is one of the three-part mini shoot we did together, our second one together after he shot my YStyle feature. More to come soon!

SO THEY CHALLENGED MY STYLE

I’m very excited to share a little feature I have in this month’s Preview magazine. Thanks to Karen for finding me and producing this feature and writing an awesome piece that explains my personal style; not to mention the challenge she gave me! Style Profile is a fun challenge that forces one to bring out their personal style regardless of what is thrown at them. I had to style a circle skirt four ways. Karen knew that I’m no girly girl. All I can say is, I’m so happy that it was black. If you live in the Philippines, go get one now!

Sharing my favourite outtakes by Ralph Mendoza. Stalk more of his photos here.
