09JUN2017 // BACK!

DSCF3075 DSCF3070 DSCF3065 DSCF3067 DSCF3072 DSCF3083 DSCF3091

I’m back! Wow, what a crazy month it’s been. Update: I now work in the food industry and went through a month-long renovation (hella challenging) and I couldn’t be happier that we have finally opened. I’m celebrating the breathing space with a long-long-long-long overdue blog post. Man, have I missed it!

Here wearing perfectly dropped (yes I’m very anal about the amount of fabric in the crotch lol) drop crotch shorts by Masscob (a Spanish brand carried by Tilda) with a mix of sporty via my Saints cap and femme via my drapey top and heels. It’s just one of those days I wanted to be all of the above, but in black, of course.

I’ve been loving the afternoon sun a lot lately especially for photos. Though it could be a bit much sometimes, there are moments it just looks, well, golden. Made it just in time before the dreadful rain, too.

Have a lovely weekend everyone! xx

These are easily one of my most favourite pants ever as they’re so fun to style. I’ve dressed them down with t-shirts and dressed them up with dressy top options, one of them is this Sune shirt from their first collection that looks like it was made for these Laurence Doligé pants from Tilda. Side band trousers are definitely an instant must-have, plus it makes you look about an inch or two taller (ha!)

In the next couple of weeks, I’ll be doing an Instagram takeover for one of my favourite retail shops! Stay tuned on @religionblack ❣ ❣

Happy Easter weekend everyone! X

17MAR2017 // ORANGE YOU GLAD

052 059061 070 081 074

Been missing in action for a while and it’s good to be back!

Growing up, I never liked repeating clothes. It would take me a month or two before wearing something again. To some degree I wanted to “save” them from wear, or I was just over them for a while, but what good did it ever do just sitting in my closet? Now that I’ve been trying to Konmari my way around life, there are a few things I’ve learned to love wearing over and over (and over) again like these favorite pants.

A few other things that make me really happy with this look: my DIY slip-on Converse sneakers (I love to cut everything obvs), supporting local brands (tshirt @nobodyclothing), and my orange sunnies. I’ve had a liking to warm colors, particularly orange hues for a while now, and this is just the way I would wear them. I simply couldn’t cheat on black ✌☯

Happy weekend everyone! X

03FEB2017 // LAST BREEZY DAYS

DSC_0147DSC_0179  DSC_0151 DSC_0180

Taking every chance I get to play around with layering. January had the leftover breezy days from December and it will be missed. How to wear this Charlie May (locally distributed by the very stylish ladies at Tilda) wool knitted crop top in Manila when a) it’s too warm for the rest of the year and b) your abs aren’t ready to be exposed? This would be my solution. Shout out to Chicify for these easy and comfy pants I can’t seem to wear enough.

Happy weekend everyone! X

20JAN2017 // WHAT’S GOOD, 2017?

DSC_0056 DSC_0061 DSC_0086DSC_0080

A very belated Happy New Year! Well into January and I’m feeling ready to take on 2017 with a drink in hand.

I got this t-shirt as a Christmas present from one of my all time fashion idols. I’ve been wearing it so much and can’t wait to give it that aged black cotton look!

I’ve been told that I’m looking more and more ‘lady’ lately. I suppose it has something to do with the realization that I’m deep into my late twenties, I feel a tad bit silly wearing some things that I used to get away with (seriously this is not a fun thing to type down as I’m still partially in denial) but some things are here to stay forever like my ludicrous love for sneakers and wide pants, as well as my capricious tendencies when it comes to playing with the things in my closet. At the least, we/I will always have something to go back to, and that is the love and the religion of Black.

Now would also be a good time to say that this might be my last year on the blog. Ah well, it’s not goodbye forever- we’ll always have social media in one form or another <3 Cheers to 2017!

Happy weekend everyone!

17NOV2016 // MASUNGI

It was no fun trying (and failing) to sleep the night before a 3am call time, but seeing all the beauty and adventure that Masungi Georeserve had to offer made the lack of sleep totally worth it. I was initially stupefyingly nervous since I’m terrified of heights, but getting over that fear for a moment and going through the trail was an experience I’ll never forget (or repeat for a little while). Many experienced hikers would rate this as easy, or even luxurious- I personally enjoyed using clean toilets before and after the hike. Highly recommend!

Finding an outfit that is both good for performance and fashion was a challenge. Believe it or not, I never splurge on workout gear. So of course I went for the thing I actually hoard- bodysuits! It worked out perfectly, and with my girl Shayna’s look to match. Naturally, we had to do some twinning photos together ♡

28OCT2016 // EVERYDAY

dsc_0094 dsc_0111 dsc_0122 dsc_0130

This is me for about four days of the week. I change up the pants to long shorts or the top to a t-shirt when I can be a little more casual and when it gets too hot out. The other three days are wild card days. Working in a restaurant has highlighted the importance of wearing natural fibers- it’s just too damn hot with anything else! My challenge for the following week would be to wear non-sneaker footwear, just to remind myself that I do have those options ha ha

Happy weekend everyone! X

07OCT2016 // JUMP(SUIT)ING IN THE RAIN

dsc_0016 dsc_0023 dsc_0030 dsc_0056 dsc_0071

Gloomy days call for photos taken in the (non pouring) rain. Been living under a rock/ in this jumpsuit except for the times I’ve had to use the ladies room. I’m surprised at the number of ways to style it thanks to its amount of detail, y’all know how much I love versatility ❥ Exhibit B (since this post was Exhibit A!): wore it to the Sunnies Specs party a few months ago without the arms.

Have a great weekend! X

05AUG2016 // SLITTY IN BLACK

DSC_0004 DSC_0008 DSC_0030DSC_0037

Wearing a lot of black means having an obsession with details. Today i’m double slitting with my long top and pants. Always loving other extra details- the ribbing on the crew neck & sleeve, the pleating on the back, the airy crepe fabric of the top matching the flowy silk of the pant. All in all, a full comfort look of the day, topped with sneakers of course.

Happy weekend everyone! X

29JUL2016 // TEES UNDER EVERYTHING

DSC_0085DSC_0106 DSC_0091 DSC_0088

I’ve been really enjoying layering tees, tanks, and shirts under dresses and tops a little too much for three main reasons: 1) that I get cold so damn easily 2) it’s more appropriate for work and 3) it super maximizes the wardrobe. Layering in this tropical weather is pretty tricky and limited to thin fabrics as I really can’t wear any knit at the moment (too hot! maybe when it starts raining again) but also can’t wear bare slips when entering air conditioned rooms.. S/o to the 90s for showing us this trick.

BRB- layering for the next few days. Happy weekend everyone! X
